The MRM in “Gordon MRM” stands for “Media Relations and Reputation Management” and this is perhaps the service for which the firm is most often retained.
The client firm may be subject to intense media scrutiny on an ongoing basis or they may be facing a business crisis which will attract significant media or political attention or they may simply wish to use the media to raise their visibility and promote their products or services. Typically Gordon MRM’s role will be to help those clients manage the full breadth of their engagement with the media whether it be local, national or international.
Day-to-day activities may include managing a press office function on behalf of a client and dealing with all media queries through that office, fostering appropriate relationships between senior client executives and relevant journalists and targeting appropriate media opportunities to explain, defend or promote the client’s activities or objectives.
The programme of activity for each client will be tailored to reflect their specific business objectives and may often include schedules of news releases, interviews, feature articles, speaking engagements and ongoing contact-programmes with key journalists.
